Drivetime offer a full range of Driving lessons from one hour a week to more concentrated or intensive driving courses depending on your requirements. Driving lessons are available six days a week, Monday to Saturday. Driving lessons are sometimes available on Sundays, please check the prices before booking, as Sundays incur a premium. You should be aware that Drivetime try to accommodate pupils as and when they require lessons, but that at certain times priority is given to those with a Driving test coming up. One of your lessons at least 2 weeks before your test, will be conducted as a mock Driving test. It will be a 90 minute Driving lesson in order for us to cover lots of different roads and situations, and conduct each manoeuvre at least once. only guiding you through the route to follow, unless something unexpected happens and you need help. This will help to show you what to expect on your test day,
Refresher driving courses, are available, in order to help qualified drivers improve their driving standards, if you haven't driven for a while, lost your confidence, find it difficult to park your car, had a car crash, or just want to update your skills, then this is the course for you. Each driving course is designed to meet the needs of each individual driver and will commence with a two hour long assessment of your driving ability. For more information on your specific needs, please contact us.
In our opinion, intensive driving courses designed to be started and finished by complete beginners within a week or so do not provide for most people, the most effective method of learning safe driving. They also often end in disappointment because expectations are too high.
There are many things to consider when you are looking for driving lessons, it is of utmost importance to choose a good Driving Instructor. Most people would start with price, whilst others might look for a 'cool' car, or be influenced by an advert on the television. But the most important factor is the quality of your Driving Instructor, and, as with most things in life, the cheapest is rarely the best value, for a better Driving Instructor will cost less in the long run because they will be able to bring you to the standard you will need to pass your test with fewer lessons.
Sometimes the advice and help you receive from friends or relatives will seem to conflict with what your Driving Instructor has told you. This is because since they have passed their driving test, friends or relatives will have forgotten, or perhaps have not been taught, the safe and correct procedures for varying traffic situations. Also, being realistic, it is unlikely that they will be driving by the book and may have even developed `individual` driving styles! Because of this it is unlikely that they will be able to explain precisely and logically a given driving task. Also just because someone may be a good driver it does not necessary follow that they will be a good teacher!
Before the first lesson is taken, the student must produce to the Driving Instructor, a valid provisional or other driving licence.
